What are prescreen questions?
Prescreen questions are questions that applicants must answer in order to apply for your CareerPlug jobs. They can be scored and can help you screen applicants to find the best ones.
Note: If you are a State Farm Agent, click here to learn about using prescreen questions.
How do I use prescreen questions?
Prescreen questions are selected on individual jobs. To add a prescreen question, watch this video or follow the steps below.
1. Create a new job or edit an existing job. Scroll down to the Prescreen Questions section.
2. Click Choose a Question from Library and type in a keyword for a question you might want to ask an applicant. If you find a question you like, select it then click the plus (+) sign to add it.
3. If you don't find a question you like, you can create a custom or blank prescreen question. Click Add Blank Prescreen Question button to add your own. Note: Each prescreen question response is assigned a score from 0% to 100%, and the results are averaged for the total score. When editing a prescreen question, you'll need to choose which percentile to use. Most clients choose either 10 or 4. The answers will be in 10% increments if you choose 10 and 25% increments if you choose 4. If you want to see scores of 60%, 70%, or 80% for certain responses, chose 10. If you would like to see scores of 25%, 50%, or 75%, then choose 4. No matter which percentile you choose, keep it consistent across every prescreen question.
You can edit any of the prescreen questions by clicking on the pencil icon next to it.
When you create a blank question or edit an existing prescreen question, a pop-up will appear that will give you options to change the question or responses, including question type (multiple choice, yes/no, open response, or multi-select), response options, scores, or type. Don't forget to click the Done or Save button at the bottom when you're finished editing. (Click here for more information about using Fast Track as a question type: How do I set up Fast Track on my account?)
When you are finished selecting prescreen questions and have no other changes to the job posting, click Save Job at the bottom of the page.
