CareerPlug gives you a few options for managing the applicants that accumulate in your system.

In this article, we cover the following options:
  • Use the filter options at the top of your Applicants page
  • Mark a candidate as a favorite
  • Make applicants inactive and send a rejection letter
  • Move a candidate to your hiring pipeline
  • Transfer a candidate to another job
  • Work with multiple applicants at once (Jump to this option: How do I work with multiple applicants at once?)

Use the filter options at the top of your Applicants page

The filter options at the top of your Applicants page automatically categorize your applicants based on the hiring step they are in. If you want to review all of your new applicants, for example, click the Needs Review filter to find those applicants with whom you have not yet moved forward at all in the hiring process.

Mark a candidate as a favorite

Marking a candidate as a favorite is a way to make them very easy to access. To mark a candidate as a favorite, click the outline of a star next to their name.

Make applicants inactive and send a rejection letter

As soon as you decide you don't want to move forward with an applicant, we recommend making them inactive to avoid cluttering up your Applicants page.

To remove applicants from your default (active) applicants views, find the applicant and click the Make Inactive button under their name. You will be asked if you want to send a pre-written rejection email to them.

Move a candidate to your hiring pipeline

Moving a candidate to your pipeline means you don't want to consider them now, but you would like to consider them for a future job opening. Move a candidate to the pipeline by clicking the More option on the bottom right of their hiring workflow and then clicking Move to Pipeline.

Transfer a candidate to another job

If you want to consider a candidate for another job than the one to which they applied, you can transfer them to another job.

Click the More option at the bottom right of the candidate's hiring workflow and then click the Transfer option.

Work with multiple applicants at once

With CareerPlug, you can easily take action on multiple applicants at once on your Applicants page. When you click the checkboxes to the left of multiple applicants' names, a menu will appear at the top of the page.
