If you want higher quality applicants, there are two things for you to try. First, make sure you're utilizing CareerPlug's hiring tools. Second, try adjusting your job description or company overview to make your position more appealing to qualified applicants.

Utilize CareerPlug's hiring tools

  • If you're looking for a candidate with a certain education level, try adding a prescreen question to your jobs asking what level of education the applicant has. (More info: How do I use prescreen questions?) Then you can filter your Applicants page to view only applicants who have the education level you're looking for. (More info: How do I filter by Prescreen?)
  • If you're looking for a candidate who has a high math/verbal aptitude or sales potential, make sure you're inviting your applicants to take assessments (more info: How do I send applicants assessments?), and then you can filter your Applicants page to view only applicants who have completed assessments (more info: How do I view only applicants who have completed assessments?) To learn more about your filtering options, check out some of our videos: Getting Started Videos.
  • If you're looking for a candidate with specific previous work experience, use keywords to highlight specified terms in your applicant's resumes. (More info: How do I use Keywords?)
  • In order to make sure you're evaluating applicants' strengths and weaknesses effectively, use interview scorecards to streamline your hiring process and help you make informed hiring decisions. (More info: How do I use interview scorecards?)

Make sure your positions are appealing to qualified applicants

  • Add a compensation amount to your job by editing the job, locating the compensation area, and specifying the expected salary for the position. Jobs with compensation information listed are more visible on Indeed.
  • Take an objective look at your Company Careers Page. Have you added perks and benefits of working at your company? Have you included testimonials from your best employees? Learn how to make your Careers Page stand out: How do I customize my Careers Page?
  • Take an objective look at your job postings. Are you including the rewarding aspects of the work or a laundry list of tasks? Taking the time to think about the benefits of the work and listing them on your job posting can entice applicants to think beyond than the day-to-day workload and consider how the job could make them feel fulfilled and even take their career to the next level.
